Hog are not regulated because they are not part of the naturally occuring wildlife. There are no season restrictions or bag limits, in fact, I think the DNR would be more than happy if every one of them (that are feral) was dead due to how destructive they are.
So, yes, if you find some you can pretty much shoot as many as you want, when you want, and however you want to.
I've been told that it takes less than 2 weeks for a hog to go wild once it's out of confinement, so it's easy to see how a population could get established.

Hogs are so plentiful in Florida you see them laying dead along the highways like you do deer here. You can not imagine how much damage they do by rooting. Ive seen acres upon acres rooted up in Florida. Florida has a season on public property but a no season - no limit - no license on private property since they are consider livestock. h.h.

That would be fun! It's a double edged sword, I would love to have hogs to hunt, but i would hate the damage they bring with them.

When you all get ready to go hunting them I have a Big Hog Call I'll sell pretty cheap. You get out in a hog woods and put this up to your mouth and go ...... SOOOOEEEE, PIG, SOOOOOOEEEE, SOOOOOEEEEE!!For an extra $10 I'll throw in a 5 gallon bucket that you bang on right after using the Big Hog Call. Works great down home on the farm.

I don't care how destructive they are, I like the idea of wild hogs loose in Indiana and in huntable numbers! I wish we had elk, antelope, and bears too!

I'm all for it, provided the habitat for the indigenous critters isn't lost or destroyed. I would like to have me a Hoosier hog too.

Last summer as I was adding some mineral to our mineral lick at the farm we hunt in Franklin County, there was a HUGE hog lying dead in the woods. I was shocked! I don't know if it was a feral hog or just a domestic hog that got loose but in any case, it was very big and very dead. I don't know what killed it, but it only lasted a few days before the coyotes and crows had it completely gone. I bet it weighed 500+ pounds!

I am also hoping for a hog hunt in Indiana. I love deer hunting but hunting hog and other critters is fun too and it is good eating.

I've heard rumors for years... never seen one personally. I'd say your odds are much better paying someone in Tennessee but it would be gratifying to pop one here in state. I had a guy on Midwest Predator post that he had killed one around Seymore last week- maybe they are getting thicker?
I'd like to shoot one or five myself!

Well, I FINALLY seen one last week while bow hunting... very cool.. I was a nice cool evening and I could hear what I at first thought was a buck coming, because evey so often it would stop and root kind of sounded like a buck scraping... was a little too far for a shot down in a ravine but it sure had my heart going for a few.... So I guess they do exist... ;D

Sure beats paying $600.00 plus to do the same thing down in Tn. A friend of mine and I applied and were drawn for a 5 day public land archery hunt in Texas. We are allowed to take two deer along with unlimited hogs and predators each. It only cost us $3 a person to apply and $160 each for permits. Both of us are planning on mostly concentrating on hog hunting and maybe trying to get a bobcat.

I have some land next to Norman or Norman Station. I have never seen hogs on the place, or have I ever fond any sign of hogs. I will be the first to admit I would like to see one. I do know that they are south of us, but most of the hogs I hear about are south of Hwy 50.

I have heard of people killing them in or around Bedford. I would love to find some property with them on it. Get some dogs and run them on the hogs. Sounds like fun to me.

Yep i think most of them are from the Medora area west, south of Hwy 50. Saw a dead one in a field last year while duck hunting. My barber hunts them with dogs..Theres getting to be a bunch of them but due to the pressure from people there not easy to find.
