(from another site)
You could do it yourself, or ask someone else to do it for you. You could ask your wife to do it, or maybe a close friend. If you ask your neighbor, you'd better explain why... Next week the Temps are forecast to be well below freezing. If a garden hose is left attached to the hose bib, it can freeze the spigot inside the wall and burst a pipe. This is usually found in spring, the first time the hose is used and water starts pouring out of a wall somewhere.
Do yourself a favor and maybe even save yourself some money. Go pull your hose!

We pull ours every year, then when the weather is warm enough it gets hooked up and used.

Self-drainer sillcocks are the cat's meow. I do need to unroll the hose and make sure that it is drained, though.
I just saw those temps this morning. Not sure I'm ready for that temperature plunge though.

Did it yesterday. Have a valve stem on the hose next to the garage. Shut off the water in the basement and open a valve, tournament on compressor and blows out that line. Pretty good system for a remote line.

If you disconnect your hose but leave it outside take off the nozzle and run water through it first before using it again.
Stink bugs and Lady Beetles will crawl into a hose and if you leave the nozzle on they will plug up the nozzle when put back into service.

25°F here and still dropping @ 12:30 am EST
Hoses pulled, outside lines drained and I have water running through others that can't be shut off and drained yet. Will leave them run like that until Thursday when it warms back up.

Poor trick or treaters! If my Granddaughter had not brought up her three kids to the house we would have had zero trick or treaters.. I got a big sack of Kit Kat bars to eat.
