A friend and I went there yesterday to scout a new 650 acre hunting property we got permission to deer hunt. I was surprised to see that a lot of beans still in the fields and most of the corn. Here in NE Indiana most all the beans are in and about 1/3 of the corn. I'm curious as to why you guys down south haven't gotten more crops out? h.h.

Hey, where abouts is your 650 acres? I hunt on McGuire Ridge about a mile north of US 52. There isn't a place in the state that is more full of deer than the Metamora area.

Im not quite sure what the name of any of the ridges is but its about 2 miles from Metamora and a mile or so off the hiway. the property belongs to my friends, friend and he drove so i didnt pay much attention but i think the hiway was 151, does that sound right? there was a river not far from it. after looking at it we decided we go later when the leaves and crops where out. we couldnt find any really good trails that looked like the deer were using a lot. h.h.

Most of the corn is down here , but a lot of the beans are indeed still up . The recent rain may have been responsible since the jump in propane cost made field drying the better option .

I hunt up near Blooming Grove but travel through the Metamora area on my way. There are a LOT of deer in this area.
