Some of you on here know that I spent a bit of time blood tracking when I had my dogs. Whether you know a lot or just a little or nothing about blood tracking, I highly encourage the watching of this video! This video brought back many memories for me and I only tracked a few deer. The pure ecstasy of a successful track is hard to explain! The gut wrenching feeling of not recovering a deer after hundreds of yards and hours on track are also hard to grasp. Most tracking dogs would go until they fell over. That's just how they're wired! It is so hard to know when to quit! But Oh the joy and jubilation when successful is amazing! And those little Wirehaired Dachshunds in the hands of an experienced guide/tracker are something special!

The long leash looks interesting and a smart way to stay legal….
