I hunted Friday, Saturday, and Sunday near Canaan, man was it awesome! The acorns were falling like rain and the deer were eating them like candy. I had a nice six point around me Friday morning for over an hour eating the white oaks, tempting, but his rack wasn't very good. He didn't have any brow tines, and all of the points on his right main beam were broomed off. I saw two more smaller bucks and plenty of does, just didn't connect. The turkeys were numerous and noisy. I've never heard so much gobbling in the Fall.

I heard a group of toms gobbling off of the roost last weekend. Wednesday, my father went after them and got them to answer his calls. Unfortunately they never came close enough.
