Well things came together this AM. Was watching 2 does feed in the persimmons when a forkhorn came by chasing another doe. While watching those deer I heard another walking, turned to me left and this guy came walking in. Figured he would continue his path for a broadside shot but nope, he turned and walked right at me. Adrenaline then kicked in as this was the one I had on camera a few times. I drew as he walked through a few saplings and when he stepped into the clearing....he stopped and looked straight up at me. I'm no William Tell but did feel confident with a 15 yard, quartering to me shot. Pass through shot and he went about 100 yards. Not text book but I'd just as soon be lucky as good. Feel awfully blessed. Thank the good Lord too for my Belgian horse son (6'6 260) for helping me get him out and loaded. Beautiful Deer, Congratulations

Its a beautiful afternoon in north eastern Knox county and back in a different stand this evening, cut corn on one side of the tree line and cut beans with wheat sprouts on the other. Wind in my face and now I wait.

Very slow morning. One doe right at daylight, then heard a buck grunting at 0800 but never spied him.
I checked a couple cams on my way out, very little activity the last few days. My place seemed like it was on fire with does and small bucks last weekend, then kaput.
I got my buck from yesterday cut up and in the cooler to age a few days. Dogs are happy with the scraps.
I’m on the food plot tonight, despite slow action on the cams. East wind for tomorrow has me excited to hunt a different spot.

To those not seeing much hang in there. You never know when it's going to happen. I hadn't got a picture in like 3 days where I killed mine this morning and haven't been seeing much at all.

Only takes 30 sec in the correct spot (doesn't have to be THE best spot either) to turn a 0 season to a hero season

I put my decoy up in the front yard to air out today. I wish I would have recorded our 2 weiner dogs when they saw it for the first time. They took off after it but when it didn't run off they put the brakes on and came running back to the porch. They kept doing that over and over. It was pretty funny.
I got out late tonight. I haven't seen much at all this season. I'm getting pictures of nice bucks but they must have figured out my new work schedule. They only show up on weekdays.

Hung my climber for an East wind in the morning about 100 yards above a pond, and now I'm in the same ridgetop ladder stand as this morning. Pretty windy up here on top.

Hunting the same stand as I did this morning. Sure doesn't feel like it though. Hasn't seen anything except two hens.

Had a mature doe come in feeding. After about 7 mins he decided to try to shoot her. Got busted getting the crossbow up for a shot.
