I’m pretty much the only one that passes deer in my family to hopefully get them to the next level. I don’t know this guy, but I’m sure he was excited for his harvest!

Trying to catch up. I had to run home yesterday to help my wife and her family issues. I had bad luck Saturday morning. A small buck pushed a doe just 22 yards in front of me. I saw a horizontal branch at 15 yards out. I thought the arrow would go just under the branch. Well it didn't and hit the branch. It went right under her. I need to cut down two small trees. I didn't have time because the buck was catching up and the doe was ready to bolt again. That's bow hunting.

Saw 6 deer tonight, all in the last hour of daylight. One looked like maybe a decent buck grunting and chasing a doe, didn’t get a real good look though.

Same ladder stand on the saddle as yesterday evening. Got to the stand a half hour before legal shooting light and was 20 yards from the stand when I heard deer bust out from the stand of beech trees behind it and head downhill. I grabbed my grunt tube and gave a few calls as I tromped through the dry leaves that last 20 yards. It's a wonder I didn't get gored for that stupidity. LOL!
After getting situated in the stand, a deer blew twice down in the hollow below me. A few minutes later, I heard a deer walking "stiff-legged" in the leaves up the hill towards me, one deliberate step after another. It paused every so often, thn walked again. It got pretty close to me and hung around a while before casually walking back the way it came from.

I got all settled in about 40 minutes ago. Doe decoy is deployed and a couple, lightly scented, scent wicks.
I saw two deer with my headlamp on the walk in. One was bedded off the trail to the south about 20 yards. It never moved. The other was about 75 yards further down on the north side of the trail. It was on its feet cruising. It looked at me then moved off. It didn't blow or bolt out of the woods, just kept on its course.
Good luck everyone! Hunt safe and God bless!

First time out this season for me was Saturday evening.
I went to a new shooting house we put in over the Summer. Over the course of the evening I saw a dozen or so antlerless deer. Over that same time I saw two shooter bucks and two smaller bucks.
Had it been gun season, my buck season would likely have been over.
As it was, several of the antlerless deer came down right around me and the bucks stayed near the food plot edge and didn't venture close enough to me for a shot.
Maybe next time...

Nothing yet, but it’s starting to rain looking at forecast 50 percent chance of rain and winds could gust over 40 miles per hour. 😩 Last time I checked it was going to be 65 and sunny.

I'm back at work the next 3 days. Heading back Wednesday evening to hunt Thursday to Sunday hopefully. At least this will give the stands 4 to 5 days rest. Good luck out there.

Good luck to all that are out. Decided to not hunt and catch things up at work next couple days with this blast of warm weather.

I was up and planning to go, but that cozy chair said otherwise. Not excited with the temps and wind, so gonna make one last sweep around the homestead. Chopping leaves, putting away equipment, and oil changes will keep me busy for a few days.
Good luck men!

Had a doe come through on the hill to my left. The buck that Woodmaster took the picture of was following her. They cut across the top of the valley and went in behind me. I watched them until they were out of sight. I turned back around and 40 yards in front of me and crossing the valley was a big tall ten pointer. Too much cover to get a shot. He headed south and out of sight. Got the heart a pumping!

Decent morning so far. As I was sitting spacing off I heard a buck roar. I look behind me and that big 10 was pushing a smaller buck away from a doe. The doe took off running the opposite direction of me and both bucks followed her. Brief, but good encounters so far this morning

Hope it all comes together for you, Woody! Just seeing deer is 90% of the battle. Seeing big bucks is a thrill in and of itself.
Still pretty calm here. Sun peeking through the clouds to my right, and a slight wind in my face from the south. Thankfully, no big wind yet. Hope it holds off until at least noon. I'm catching whiffs of a woodstove in the distance.
