Congratulations to Luke!
Doubt I see a deer after 21 practice shots they've fired now. Whatever it is, it's loud!

Ended up not going out. Going out tomorrow however for a morning sit before I have a 3 sit in class at 2. Gonna sit in the double stand most likely, where for the last year I've seen nothing but bucks in the hope that a hot doe will come through and give me a chance. I've seen them last winter while hunting literally in the glade while walking to and from hunting spots on the property, but never while in that stand and never closer to that stand than 60 yards.

Here is a message from a CO on the subject……. Below is the response we have been providing to this question. As a hunter, a person would want to be very cautious in utilizing the service as the violation would fall on the hunter and not the drone provider. The statute specifically prohibits a person from utilizing a UAV as an aid in “taking” the wild animal. Please refer to the definition of take provided in the statute below. It has been determined that utilizing a UAV to track a DEAD deer would not constitute a violation of the statute. Since the animal is already dead, the act of “take” is already complete. The UAV cannot be used in taking a deer but it can be used in an effort to find a deer that has already been taken. Many of you would be quick to point out that often, when a hunter shoots a deer and does not find it, they do not “know for sure” that the deer is dead. In a situation where a UAV was used to track a deer that had been shot but the deer is found to still be alive, the hunter could not legally utilize information gained from the UAV to go to the area and finish the deer off. To do so would violate the provision of the statute that prohibits the use of a UAV to assist the individual in the “taking” of a deer. However, a clear violation would be to utilize the location provided by the UAV to immediately pursue the deer. Exiting the area and then checking on the location some time later to determine if the deer expired would be a better scenario that I think all of us could agree is legal Remember though that the thermal capability of a drone is prohibited whether the deer is dead or alive. While it is a gray area to use a drone if the deer is DEAD, it's definitely illegal to use thermal to retrieve a dead deer. This is all hearsay for the record, but buck of a lifetime was found with a drone still alive and provided some closure.

Spent several hours butchering my buck today. I'm a wimp with cutting stuff up....tucker me out. Finished up just before 1600 and COULD have run out to the farm but not tonight. Going in the morning for a few hours, then I have a date with a German Baptist fellow for some firewood, then back out in the evening of need be. I'll only shoot a mature doe at this point. I'll be enjoying my time at home the last couple days.

Well I find myself with my crossbow in my hand because that was the only way to gain entrance to this small private area. The tract of woods is small, but the surrounding private land is huge. Ive had a cell cam back here for a few weeks because the land owner was curious about how many pass thru and the sizes. After revealing the pics, I was granted entry. I just got settled in the best spot I can find considering there's not many options for concealment. I had permission on a similar property with the same constraint...bow only. I hunted there three times and took five deer home. Do the math. That property is now home to $750k+ houses.

This is the property I hunted this afternoon/evening but I'm trying to gain access to the other property which I've included a OnX picture of who is related by marriage to the property I have already gained access to. There's a clubhouse/hunting house on the 2nd picture and I'm going to offer my time/materials to finish it in hopes of being able to gain access. Not sure if it'll work, but then again I've been told NO before.
