Thanks! I really wish I could sand blast it with a clear conscious, but it doesn't feel right. Otherwise I could do a full restore job myself and get it where it'd be brand new.

Watch Novak. He does incredible work without destroying the original. It is an 80+ year old gun and short of a Turnbull complete facelift it will always look it. You will loose a lot more than you gain by sandblasting. It took a lot to get it back here if it was carried back by a soldier. These guns took a beating.

We've gotten all of it taken apart and broken down. There are a few spots left to go, but the plum color is coming back on it now and it's beautiful. Also, now that its cleaned up the batch/manufacturing numbers on it are all the same which is a huge sigh of relief! It is clean enough now to where we can comfortably test fire it, and I have some NOS matching grips on the way. Once we can get it shooting we'll strip it again to finish everything up. Mechanically we've fixed all the stuff that looks like it could potentially prevent it from running... now we'll see if it can cycle!

We went out yesterday and shot it. Surprisingly (or not) It ran and cycled flawlessly with no jams on 4 full magazines. It broke up some of the junk on the barrel too, so that was really nice!
