Just got a crossbow. Never used one. One that came on it is what you think a free scope would be. Looking to upgrade. Question though. Why the heck are crossbow scopes so complicated. Looks like something that should be in a fighter jet. Anyone have a suggestion for a solid scope that don't have all the silliness. I'm going to shoot max 40 yards. Dont want all the clutter

I have read some guys using a standard duplex reticle setup as such... 30yd aiming point is center of x-hairs, 20yd aiming point is the transition from thick to thin post above the x-hair, and 40yd aiming point at the transition below. Follow that? You bow may be faster than allowing that, so aiming point yardage may be different. You can also adjust the magnification to adjust it, you just gotta leave it alone when you figure out what works.

I put a fixed 4x scope on one of mine, zeroed at 30 yards, and made a drop chart to tape to the stock. It is something like 3” high at 20, zeroed at 30, 9” low at 40, 20” low at 50.
That is on a Jackal, yours is quite a bit faster and would likely be a flatter trajectory.

TenPoint 3x pro-view 2 scope is a decent scope. Lighted reticles. There is a new one on eBay for $170

What bow and scope did you get? Barnett expedition 380. Likely never more than something to take for a walk in the woods but still like a good scope on it. Can't pass up a good deal in the classified section though |

I have a 10 point scope on my pse. I really like it and have killed quite a few deer with it. I'm not sure what model.
