Very little picking going on in Warrick county in the southwest.
Beans are still halfway green in some fields.
Acorn drop looks decent..

There is NO picking going on around here. The beans and corn have just started to turn. I think harvest is still 2-3 weeks away here in the SE part of the state.
The acorns look good here too.
My opening morning stand will be between a block of oak, and a bedding area. My evening stand will be in the oaks near the edge of a corn field.

I just got back from a trip to the Hovey Lake area and much of the corn in that area was either picked or being picked. Many of the corn fields along 41 from Evansville to Vincennes were being picked as I was heading northward. Most of the bean fields I saw looked to be second crop and weren't ready yet.

They're beginning to pick the corn down here , lots of soybeans still standing and half green . The acorns were coming down so hard from the oak overhanging my truck that I had to move it . Both the whites and reds on my place are producing well , and I even found a ripe though slightly bitter persimmon on the driveway the other day . I didn't know that I had a persimmon tree there until now . Looks like a great mast year for the Southern Tier this year , I can't wait for all the ag crops to get picked so the game will begin moving more .

The best eating deer will come early, before they stuff themselves on the acorns that are carpeting the forest floor. Last years were some of the best I have ever eaten. It is a strange year around here. Like Kevin said, most of the corn is in but the beans haven't been touched.

Our beens are ready to cut and the corn is ready to be shelled but the two inches of rain we got yesterday is going to slow things down a bit. I have been seeing a very large buck all summer near a corn field and that corn has been shelled already so hopefully the buck headed to the woods. I will see him this weekend

Still nothing being picked near me, although I have seen some farmers readying their combines. The crops have definitely turned a lot in the past week. Hopefully they will be picking this weekend, but like 911 said the rain may slow them down.

Most of the beans are gone and a slight bit of the corn is starting to be cut. With the lower temps and some of the fields cut I hope to have a better hunt than I did last Sat. afternoon. It can't get any worse.
