I have decided to build myself a coyote rifle and am looking for either a Tikka or RAP barreled action to put in a chassis. Already have an optic needing a home so I am trying to do this reasonably. If anyone has one of these in 22-250 and might want to part with them please hit me up.
I moved this from the muzzleloader threads ....my bad

Try looking on Gun Broker. There are 85 or so of them there.

I have been looking but the prices are generally at least as much or more than I can get new one at discount.

Took possession of the Tikka last night. Went into the shop today to drop it in the chasis. Also mounted a Viper PST that I had laying around. All I'm waiting on now is the magazine from MDT then I'll be shooting! I'm calling this rig Wiley!!!

Right now I'm starting with the 40gr Winchesters and Hornady 55 gr VMaxs....it is a 1/7 twist so I think the 55s are probably the heaviest I should go to.

7 twist? Shoot you could shoot 90 grainers no problem… With that 7 twist at 22/250 velocities with lighter grained bullets you are probably gonna end up vaporizing bullets…. Just a heads up.

Went to the range for the first time today and am overall really happy. Usually I buy the zero targets they have there, but today no luck. The only target they had were basically useless as they were black and my reticle is thin to begin with. I had to pick spots on the white for POA. Shot the Winchester 40gr white box to about 1" (better than expected as I am NOT a fan of their ammo). Then I shot 55gr VMaxs and got better results at about 5/8" Not bad for the first go round. When I had the action out I adjusted the trigger all the way down and it is very nice. I want to try some heavier weight rounds to see how tight I can get the groups. First, impressions are that I love the chassis, trigger adjustment was a good move and I think this rig will make me happy. flic.kr/p/2poTqLg
