I put a new minn kota 70lbs thrust trolling motor on my boat. I obtained it from another user and I didn't get a manual nor did I do my own due diligence to read it online. But, it appears that it requires 24v battery connection. I only have 2-12v batteries in my boat and don't really have room for a third. It seems that I can tether the two batteries together. But, this will require a jumper wire as well. Does anyone have any suggestions on a jumper wire? Is one brand better than the other, especially for marine batteries? My batteries have post connections btw.
Thanks.

Very simple, works just like batteries stacked in line in a flashlight.
Two 12v batteries side by side On battery #1 connect positive to feed the trolling motor positive, then connect negative to the positive of battery #2 with a battery to battery connector cable you will need to make or buy. Connect negative of battery #2 to feed the trolling motor negative.
It's best if batteries are located close together in the boat. Would not suggest trying to link your existing trolling motor battery and starter battery in this fashion. Add another trolling motor batter right beside the other.
There are lots of Youtubes that show this very clearly.

Those batteries can only be used like that for the trolling motor, NOT to start/run the other gas motor or any accessories like a bilge pump......
