Hello! I have sometimes come across this website when looking for hunting stories to read or tips on doing something, such as mounting my first ever turkey fan. I decided to join because this would be a good place to get advice, share stories, etc, etc. I have actually been hunting squirrels and whitetail for nearly 10 years, and have also done out-of-state wild hog eradication and a high-fence ram hunt (yea, I know, but for the group I was with it was something new to try and also something within our budget and preferred distance for that year). I also just last fall started hunting turkeys, got my first ever turkey a few weeks ago! It was a Jake with a 5" beard, but I don't think I've ever shaken so hard and gotten so ramped up since I got my first deer 9 years ago!
Been lucky enough to have a few encounters with truly big bucks, including what I now realize was a 200" monster non-typical 12 point. Unfortunately each time I was somehow in a situation where I could not shoot. It's given me something to work up to.
My other hobbies are amateur astronomy and raising chickens for show.
