My daughter and I were enjoying a nice Sunday morning of bluegill fishing at our favorite farm pond. My neighbor's family owns it and I have fished there for years. We had 20+ honest keepers in the basket when the neighbor's dad showed up and informed me that he didn't want any fish kept. This is a guy that doesn't fish and no one in his family fishes. He is obsessed with keeping it weed free and keeps putting stupid grass carp in it every couple of years. The bluegill are miraculously good, but every bass is skinny and of no size.
Whatever, his pond his rules. I'll never go back. I've always been very selective in what I keep and always throw back more than I take home. That pond will be good for nothing but to look at within a few years.

That is a bummer. Seen it happy plenty of times. Not much you can do without owning it

I have seen it way too many times. I have given up on trying to educate people that don't think they need the education. I'll sell them whatever they want to buy. I would much rather educate the pond owners so they can spend their money wisely (or sometimes not at all) but if a pond owner knows it all, then I will sell them whatever they want. Harvest is an integral part of pond management.
