I have permission to hunt on a property (private land) that falls within the corporate boundary of a fairly small town.
This property is by no means in town.
I spoke to the local police and they informed me there is nothing the city has that would prevent me from hunting this with a firearm.
I just want to cross my T's and dot my I's.
Is there anything from a state perspective that would prevent this?

There is not a state law that would prohibit you from hunting within city limits. As long as the city or town does not have a ordinance against discharge of firearms then you would be legal.
