Found a fresh scrape yesterday while doing some last minute scouting. Dang this early They scrape year round. Most of the time they don’t aggressively tear the ground up like during the rut or check them near as often, but some primary scrapes will stay open year round.

Last weekend I checked one of those primary scrapes and not much action. That concerned me some, but up the lane about 100 yards is another semi primary scrape and I didn't check that one. It seems the buck moves to the 2nd spot about every 5 years.

Put your cameras on scrapes. Bucks are starting to check them regularly.

Put your cameras on scrapes. Bucks are starting to check them regularly. IDK. I would be very careful. Honestly I don't step foot near my best sets till late Oct.. , majority of early scraping are young bucks and just a instictive reaction to rising test. Only places I hang cams in summer and fall are food sources with easy non intrusive entry and exits. Same with early season hunting, food sources only, and no hunt's back in woods till late, late Oct., JMO, you can ruin a area for season by being to intrusive, and over hunting early. Majority of mature bucks are nocturnal b4 Oct 1st comes, so I would use alot of caution.

So much for rain forecasted next week. LOL. Went from 50% for 4 straight days to 25% 1 day. Pretty depressing at this point. Will have about 5 acres tilled and ready to seed to cereal rye and oats "IF" it ever rains again?? Not seeding anything until a sure soaker is forecasted.

Fronts come in and just disappear when get to us. Pattern has to change at some point, at least have a very good acorn crop (already dropping). I have until mid Oct to seed the cereal rye and oats, so am just in holding pattern. already sprayed and tilling next few days.

Pretty well the same here. When it looks like we have some coming it either disappears, switches and goes south or north of us or even splits and goes both south. And north of us
South of the Ohio River gets a bunch of it.

Nice front over in Illinois. Future radar shows it dissipates when it hits the Wabash.😳
