Man, they are here by the THOUSANDS! Never really hunted them, but I might buy my federal stamp and sit in my yard in the evening and try to get a couple, they are landing about a half mile away.

Last week I saw 5 waves move through here around noon that day. Don't know where they came from or where they went. Don't usually see any up here in St Joe co...

Greene Co is LOADED...at least Lyons and goose pond area I would be curious to know a decent estimate of exactly how many. I'm telling you, it's gotta be thousands.

If I remember I will look it up tomorrow 8,727 light geese and 4,752 white fronted geese. I saw a couple thousand myself just east of there on Sunday.

Saw a ton of them in southern IL a couple weeks ago.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good outfitter where a guy could go do that for a couple days? Did it several years ago in Nebraska just across the river from Missouri and had a ball, unfortunately that outfitter is no longer in business.

In my travels today, I caught some snow photos. The first 2 pics here were at Goose Pond, south of Linton: Then it got really crazy north of Clay City! Basically the field and pond NE of Zion Church Rd (300 S) and 100 W! All that white in the background is geese on the pond/lake: After watching for about 15 minutes, all of the sudden, they exploded out of the water. At first, I wondered how I could've spooked them. Then after a few shots with the iPhone and camera, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the reason. A bald eagle had apparently swooped down and snatched one. I could see the wrangling on the off banks in the reeds but I was not quick enough to get it on camera. Pretty much a rookie photographer I guess. But the view from the dive bomber's effects was amazing:

If it's true that a goose poops once every 10 minutes, and that 1 goose in one day can poop enough to grow 112# of algae in a pond, that pond should be really green this June.

Lol I live in the Clay City area. And yes we are loaded up with snows right now.

Is the build up of snow geese normal? Is there much snow goose hunting in the state?

Is the build up of snow geese normal? Is there much snow goose hunting in the state? It is normal unless you are hunting with Duff, then they disappear into thin air.
