I base my guess on the deer that I've sighted crossing the property , it was approx. 1 buck to 3 does .

A lot of does around here. Sometimes I'll see a hundred or so in a field and not a buck to be seen. I guessed 1/15 but it may be less than that.

Typically 1 buck per 2 or 3 does. From what I see while on stand
Last year 0 does 5 bucks. Again just what I see from stand at my main hunting property. It was a lousy year for numbers last season. Lucky I got to go to my bro in laws for shotgun opener and bagged my 2 does there.

1-10. Too much "No Hunting" surrounding property owners where the bucks feel much more secure.

I can't say with any certainty that the does I saw last season weren't the same 5 or 6 every day. If they weren't, I would have to put the ratio somwhere in the 1/8 or 1/10 category, because I only saw one buck, which would therefore put the ratio at 0/8 or so, because he now tends a scrape in my freezer basket.

1-10. Too much "No Hunting" surrounding property owners where the bucks feel much more secure. I'll have to disagree with that Deertracks because of the poaching problems and knowing the surrounding property owners and their hunting habits. I believe the bucks just aren't moving as much during October. If the our buck to doe ratio was truly 10 to 1 then in November we wouldn't see that many bucks. We see the small bucks in October and occasionally a mature buck.

We see the small bucks in October and occasionally a mature buck. I would agree with your reasoning if it were not for the fact that on "numerous" occasions I have watched "multiple" nice bucks moving, feeding, bedding, breeding, & chasing does on the adjoining "No Hunting" properties in both archery & firearms season. This activity slows down very little during November when surrounding property hunter pressure is @ it's max. The 3 surrounding property owners do "not" deer hunt, nor do they allow it. Except for maybe the extreme roadside property lines, which are "open fields" no deer hunting is happening unless it is nocturnal poaching. These 3 property owners live on the highest points in the middle of their properties with a clear 360 degree field of view. Two of the owners are retired & are home most of the time, and they do walk their properties dressed in HO during deer season. By the way, the elevations, terrain, food, bedding, & water of the property I hunt is almost identical to the 3 "No Hunting" adjoining properties.

Generally runs about 1/5, a bit higheer in years past. I have quite a bit of property (spoils) surrounding mine which does not get hunted nearly as heavily as it did a few years ago due to a hunting lease on it.
I've always tried to take the maximum number of does allowed from my property for past 8 years. For the past two years I have had permission for myself and a friend to harvest as many to also hunt the adjacent 70 acres property as well if need be

Mine is 1 to 1 during the spring, summer and fall. Pick up a few stragglers in late winter due to the food plots I would say but it doesn't get over 1.5 to 1. I spend a lot of time at my hunting ground because it's right behind my house so I pretty much know what's going on year round. It took quit a few other and myself to get the herd balanced back in the early 90's. We took 17 does one year and 13 the next. I had a waiting list of people to call. Most was done with archery and a few smoke poles. Once you get it balanced and where you want it to be it doesn't take a whole lot of effort to keep it there.
