Obviously this week Governor DeSantis is in the news quite a bit. I am not saying I don't like Donald Trump but I don't think Trump can carry the swing votes to regain the presidency. Do you guys think DeSantis would a make a good president? Do you think he could regain the presidency from the Democrats? My opinion is yes on both questions. The Republicans and general conservatives around the nation need to find common ground to get us back into the White House and get the Democrats out. At this time I could go either way Trump or DeSantis but I feel like DeSantis would be more popular right now. I would like your opinions please

I'm yes to both. DeSantis is a good man and leader. If you noticed he has helps all regions of Florida. I'm sure he would do the same for all the States. I'm not sure on popularity of the two. I do like DeSantis more than Trump. Trump is still pro vax and that's very concerning.

I believe DeSantis and Kristi Noem would be a winning ticket…at least they would get my vote.

I think he would be phenomenal.
His policies in Florida have been solid, he's very tactful but direct about his intolerance for BS.
My hope is a DeSantis / Haley ticket.

As much as Trump did good for the USA, I think there are enough people that don't like him on a personal level that they would cast a vote for the opposition just so he didn't win. That's why I hope he doesn't run. He'd split the vote, and the same party that is in power now would stay in power. At least that is what I believe.
Would Trumps ego allow him to be speaker of the house if asked?

I believe Trump could do a lot of good in a position like that and also agree his ego will probably keep him from doing anything that isn't POTUS.

I agree 100%. Then we'd probably end up with Harris for a president. Maybe not right away, but I don't Joe will last for another 6 years, mentally I mean.

Can I say Ross Perot? DeSantis is the best choice for the Republican party and the Nation. Liberal/socialist policies are ruining the country and I'm afraid that it will be too late for recovery if their agenda is allowed to continue.

I just hope the republucan party can bring a viable candidate that is not pushing 80.
I think Trump's time is over. He served a purpose and it would be best for the GOP if he would slide into the sunset. I don't think he is capable of that. It will impact the GOP success.
At this point, the GOP can put up someone that the moderates don't have strong feelings against I think it is an easy victory over the DEMS.

Like most of the above have mentioned, Trump will likely split the party and cost the election if he runs. He needs to go away. He will also be 78-79 years old by next election. He may retain his wits a lot better than Biden has, but it's still way too old to be leading the country.
We need somebody under 60 years of age. DeSantis is the obvious front runner and could do the country a lot of good.
