Me, Schall53 my son and grandson our good fishing buddy Bruce and a friend of my son named Paul just finished up a 2 day fishing trip to Lake Erie out of Marblehead, Ohio aboard the Eagle Eye charter with our good friend Captain Bob Hayner.
The first morning we ran 18+ miles to the Canadian border and pulled our limit of 36 walleye plus some other species of fish including a nice Channel cat.
It took us over an hour motoring each way but we were still back on land in about 5 hours.
I failed to mention that we hit the MAYFLY hatch at it's peak with millions upon millions of flies everywhere.
Day #2 we changed directions and headed East again about 20 miles or about a 1 hour boat ride to the most intense day of walleye fishing any of us have ever had.
We landed on a massive school of young walleye and from the minute the first rod hit the water it was game on! We for the first hour or so could never get half of the rods in the water because it was "FISH ON".
At one time we had six rods being reeled in at one time.
The sad thing was is we were into a mess of border line sized fish so it was reel them in, measure them, throw them back put the rod back out and get ready to reel it in again.
I lie to you not when I say we caught approx. 80-90 fish while working our way to our 36 fish limit.
There was no time to sit and take in the day it was work..work..work.
We were so beat that we said we didn't want a second day photo.
We had our catches cleaned We relaxed and enjoyed each others company both afternoons and we had some of our catch cooked up at a local restaurant.
We are done with Lake Erie for this year but are already booked for next year.
The weather was as perfect as you could ask for with clear skies, little to no wind and calm seas.
Thank you GOOD LORD for looking after us and thank you Captain Bob for the fantastic memories.
I have included a couple photos of the house we rent when we fish Lake Erie.
