Hey - just wondering how many people out there hunt turkey in the fall, and if so, what kind of success you've had. Also any advice you might want to share. I've only ever done spring.
Thanks!

Being that it falls during archery season I am always taking the opportunity if one presents itself. I’ve taken 1 during fall season so far and had a few close calls.

I wish fall turkey season would go all the way to the friday right before the first day of deer gun season. As stated before a target of opportunity. I don't chase them but I've heard it's productive. Find a flock, run at them, bust them up and call them back. I'm usually in a tree stand so I just hope one walks by. Almost had one a couple of years ago, but getting a deer trumps getting a turkey so that is a big factor for me.

I check to see if county your hunting has a fall season first. * See Hunting and Trapping Guide for counties open to fall turkey hunting. No more than one bird of either sex may be taken in the fall turkey season, regardless of equipment. A separate turkey license is needed for the spring and fall turkey season.

I just pattern them like I do deer and let them come to me without calling.
