OK, So this may sound weird, but I am an unconventional but very successful turkey hunter. As part of my bag of tricks I like to try new stuff. I have a couple groups of birds I have semi-patterned. I want to setup on the travel route that funnels the most. Well in doing so there's a secondary route I'd like to put some sort of object that will discourage them from going through there. Something that would not spook them, but cause them to avoid that route. It's a 20 yard wide gap in a 1/4 mile long brush line. There's a mowed trail going through there. The birds would see it from about 100 yards. I got no idea what to try, but it would need to be very light weight, because it's a mile long hike back in there.
I know that's a long walk for turkey, but it's public and I just got to liking this area. Quite a few reliable toms around there. No other hunters is nice too. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hawk or Owl decoy in sight of approaching birds. Good idea... Hang it on a low limb where the wind can move it around a little.

Owls work good. I use one at honeybee apiary and it keeps out Orioles every spring. Before I put it out I had a few show up eat hundreds of bees. Last three years zero citing at the apiary. The owl sits on the post. It's about left center of the boat in the background. No turkeys either. They do walk up the road, but they avoid the apiary.

I’ve used orange cones for blocking travel route and clothing hung in trees. Worked.
Orange cones because travel was coming across the county road. Blocked path going on neighbors and directed to me.

Well, ended up not needing to block route. After thinking about it, I figured these birds were just suspicious of my pop up blind. So I just took my Ghost Blind and left decoy at home. Worked like a charm. Had three toms come in simultaneously from three different directions. Big one came into my calls to five yards from blind. Never heard a gobble so close. Just short of 25#.
