I can’t get one to even answer my calls. Had seven toms less than 100 yards. Could see them in the trees. Crows, horns, and anything other than my calls they would gobble at. Just like someone else posted. Stayed in trees till 7am. Then they flew down and went the other way. All the bucks in the county stood by my decoy to ensure no turkeys would come close.

Back at it today, set up on the ridge those two gobbled from yesterday. Still no gobbling nearby today, I can just faintly hear one way off in the distance.

No gobbling where I am at. Their weird here. Either they are on fire and you can’t make them go away or they are no where around and you couldn’t get one if you had him tied to a stake in the field. 🤷🏼

Let’s go to public this morning I say. Walk in from the private I hunt. Bump birds off the roost. Great! Get to where I want to stop and listen and I hear footsteps somewhere in the woods behind me. Turned my phone on so they could see some light. Didn’t hear them anymore. Well that’s because he made it to his blind I walked by and is now sitting there just calling away. Not a great start to the morning. Should’ve set up where I did yesterday morning and would’ve been good for the ones I scared off the roost. None had roosted there the past two mornings. Stupid birds.

Not a sound here except for the wind. Only thing I've seen is a yote.

Same here, just hear the wind. Having to hunt turkey like deer is not the most exciting thing

Very weird how quiet it is. Heard a couple geese, and seagulls have been flying around all morning.

We had a hen and a Strutter pop out at the south end of the food plot. The hen slowly made her way to us picking weed seeds. Thee Strutter was following at about 30 to 40 yards. The hen got into the decoys but the strutter started making a turn into the big pines next to the plot.
Grandson thought he is leaving and he shot. The gobbler jumped into the air and took off. We immediately lost sight of him we couldn’t find any blood or feathers where he was at. Searched the woods and no sign at all.
Just ranged where he was walking and is 53 yards.
Just a flat miss.. 😢

So I had to leave my blind at 9, no sounds no birds up until I pull my dekes. Then as I’m walking away from my blind I can hear them starting a ruckous about 100 yds into the woods…..great!!! I can’t stay I absolutely have to go to this funeral. I didn’t spook em so that’s good. Be back this evening.

All quiet on the Northern front. Saw one hen at about 100 yards moving through. NO mushrooms as of yet. THAT IS ALL!

I got into my spot at 515 and have not seen or heard anything. I’m posted up on the spot where I kicked up a dozen birds yesterday and not a peep in any direction.

For me when I BLEW IT I crawled in to the bottle and tried to drown my sorrows for months it hurt so bad I even avoided watching turkey hunting on the television or going to places like BASS-PRO or CABELA'S because I didn't want to see mounted turkeys or even tail fans. Tell him they say (TIME HEALS ALL WOUNDS)..... so they say........
