Good morning ya'll.
A friend of a friend has opened a new game bird preserve about 30min West of Lafayette and I'm going to try my hand at 10 pheasants this Sunday (hopefully the temps can stay down a bit and the moisture will still stick around).
I'll update more after the hunt, but the prices seem very reasonable and for me, it's a much closer drive than the others in the state or Iowa where I typically hunt.
Will be great to get the dog on birds once more before season-end and the Fiance will get a chance to throw some shot at live birds with her new O/U so that's exciting as well!

Update. This is a great place with lots of varying land and space.
900 acres in total about 5 min from Green Hill.
We put out 10 roosters and brought 9 back in 3.5 hours.
Windy day, dry conditions, and these birds hunted like late season birds. They did not want to get up for anything.
We found the 10th bird (Ghost Pheasant) but while trying to get him up another rooster flew and we lost the ghost.
Absolutely, 1000% recommend this place
We were the 3rd party to hunt and they do not even have a Facebook page or website yet.
As soon as they do, I can update.

bigancola, If that's where I think it is that property can hold wild birds. I have access to a crp field within a mile of there that holds wild birds. Sounds like it may be the former Purdue property the university decided to sell a couple of years ago?? University ran one of their angus research herds there as well as row crops. Surprised it sold in one tract??? Have you got any information on who bought it?
Nice looking setter by the way.

Really good dude and I think he's going to run a very nice setup once complete. He told me they're planning a sporting clays layout, and lodge/clubhouse in the future as well. Andy's partner must have some deep pockets cause k9 officer salary won't qualify for mortgage on 900 acres  seriuosly, I hope it happens, I have hunted up there in that area for years, birds and deer, and when the farm manager told me about the proposed sale I told him it would make a great hunting preserve for a rich guy. There's been a lot of really big deer killed on and around that farm also FWIW. Steve |

Hey one more thing, What did Andy charge for birds? Steve I paid $30/bird and was told they'll be less next year, he had to pay a premium to get birds late in the year. Either way, it wasn't much more than what I normally pay. |

Sunday morning my hunting partner and I went and checked out this Hunting Club and talked with the owner. Now I see why he called the club High Bridge. . The set up is beautiful the club house was nice as well .
