I'll likely draw a tag in South Dakota some day. I've applied a few times in Wyoming, but the draw odds are pretty steep there.

I'd love to, and I'd be sorely tempted to buy a rifle for the hunt, something like a 45-90/45-100/45-110 or 50-90/50-140.
I would have to make sure that there was a way to properly process the animal to get it out of the field as soon as possible too.
I think doing something like that would be really cool.
Gemsbok is on my bucket list, and I'd like to do that hunt here in the states vs. in Africa just so I could bring the meat back home. I already have a rifle for that.

I’ve got an old trap door I’d let you use 45-70 hope you like recoil

Heck ya! I'm in for sure, that is some awesome eating! I have a 45-70 I can go old school with to drop one. If someone wants to make it a challenge, I'm pretty sure I can drop one with a 50 caliber flintlock.

I believe that only 3 herds are left that are a true strain of bison It sure would fill a freezer if you tagged one better have a few big coolers with you a lot of the hunts I’ve seen advertising are a farm hunt maybe a big farm or ranch but they don’t look real challenging but it sure would be some good eats

If you ever get the chance read about Teddy Roosevelt's Bison hunt. He was running all over the prairie trying to get one. That was when they were almost wiped out.
I would take both my Marlin 45-70 or my .54 Flintlock either one is capable of taking down a Buffalo. Getting a flintlock to go off in high winds can be a challange sometimes.
