I've only seen does.

No. Looks like things fired up after that front yesterday. At least in the south.

This is way out there, but it seems our calendar is off around 10-14 days. 1st frost in the fall is 1 to 2 weeks later. Leaves drop later. In the spring the last frost now is late May. Before you could plant after Mother's day. Now it last week of May. So the rut is just just starting. My guess the 16th or 17th is best days. Not the 6th to 8th.
I wonder if there is an angle data of the sun over the years. I need to look into that data. Is the sun higher or lower at noon.

I had not seen any rut activity until the beginning of last week. Very strange. Have been seeing steady rut activity now.

I saw a buck breed a doe Saturday. My guess is lockdown combined with the shock of the gun opener may have them holed up but I'm just a factory worker from southern Indiana so look for a better source than me.

You all missed the Deer Mandate… Since Covid has been found in deer Brandon has issued an Executive Order telling all the deer that if they don’t know for certain if a hunter has been vaccinated or not to bypass them. You all need to thumbtack your fully vaccinated card (if you have one) to the tree at the bottom of your stand. Deer really can’t read so you can probably fool them with a piece of paper with the words “ I’m vaccinated 😉”

Neighbor killed a 150 class 10 point at 8 a.m. this morning out looking for doe's. Peak breeding is over IMO just be hit and miss on a doe being in heat your area going forward. Hunt the food evenings and doe bedding areas a.m.

I pulled into my hunting spot around 3:45 PM today and there were 8 to 10 does feeding in an adjacent grass pasture. No bucks in sight.
I saw a 6-pointer from my stand on the wooded ridge. He played around with a licking branch on a logging road then meandered off into the brush.

I wonder if there is an angle data of the sun over the years. I need to look into that data. Is the sun higher or lower at noon. From Dr Deer James Krull We have heard from many of you about the inactivity of deer, particularly in the MidWest. At our research facility here in eastern Texas, we normally see our rut over by now; however, for the first time in 38 years, our rut is 21 days later! We just now are seeing breeding activity. Unfortunately, we predicted this earlier in the year. Whitetails prime on the October Hunters Moon, which this year occurred late— 20 October. The next full moon (Beaver) was 19 November; again late. So, we predicted the MidWestern rut would occur 3-5 days after this moon. Beginning yesterday, our deer are actively chasing, and we are getting reports from all over about rutting deer! The roads are covered in dead bucks. The good news is that next year, once again the rut will be more timely.
