The results of the teeth that were sent out are not expected to be back for a while. I saw the jaw bone a couple weeks ago with the teeth missing that were sent out. Time will tell... What were the guesses with the ones holding the jaw Boone? Don't know.. The guys with trail cam picture trail are saying 6.5. In wild herd 6.5 is pretty old.

Yes it is….
Definitely some guys hunting the Deer with good restraint not just shooting out of excitement or mistake!
Of course Huff was at right place at the right time. Sure he would have shot a smaller deer if it had been there.

The 10 point on my wall was aged at 7.5 and going downhill. The 12 point with kickers I chased and watch grow for 5 years was at least 7.5. The 24 point that was on Indiana Game and Fish magazine cover a couple decades ago was minimum 6.5. Now Dusy's buck at least 6.5. All died within 4 miles of each other, but obviously lived on a wider range. The properties are not only hard to acquire permission to access, some of the terrain is difficult to cover and nearly impossible to hunt. There is a reason this valley was poacher central for so long and why we deal with the spotlighter parade every year.

So how many Poachers were caught or arrested in this “poacher central” you speak of ? Any spot that popular has to draw LEO’s also I would think! Especially with the modern times we live in.

Wow the idea of a 6.5 out there is impressive. Not that they're not out there but you sure don't see them every day!

I was talking to a gentleman this morning at church that owns property down there and he said there have been 4 bucks found in the area with their heads cut off!! Sounds like it’s still a problem that will probably get worse for a little while longer at least. 😤😡

For several years the COs used to sit on the hill behind where our cabin is to watch the valley. How many got arrested I don't know. I've had the property for 15 years and with us and the cooperating neighbors along with the 2 County Deputies that live in the area making consistent dive throughs it's been pretty calm for a while.

There are areas in Pike and Warrick counties spoil banks that haven't been walked upon by man since it was mined back in the '40s and '50s

Thought they had 3 years of pics…claiming the first year was 3.5! Never heard of anyone question the tooth process …. The jaw aging yes!!

I would have guessed 6.5 years old. I would believe 5.5 just an exceptional genetic deer
