I have two honey locust trees in my little woods and one produces seed pods. The deer go bonkers when the pods drop. I 've seen serious fights up on two legs between the does. The tree is about 15 feet from my stand. The honey locust are the trees with the big thorns. Here is the close up standing by my grill last night. Barbecued three half chicken breast.

Yup we had some at my parents place throughout the woods, TERRIBLE on tires but dang late season those pods are massive draws!

I've had those thorns come through my boots a couple times! Not a pleasant experience.

Had a buck eating those Sunday evening at 25 yards. To thick around it with autumn olive crap. Went out the back side of thick stuff with no shot opportunity.

Funny story about a locust tree. Back in the day, my buddy's grandpa stepped on one that went thru his shoe and into his foot at our elementary school. He went back and complained to the principle who didnt care about what he had to say. So "Bup" went home and returned, and he pulled out a chainsaw and cut that tree down. The good ole days! Lol

Had a couple of flat tires on my mower until I got rid of that tree.

When I was a kid playing in a park I had thorn go through my gym shoe and foot. Came out the top. I was around 12th years old. I pulled it out and all seemed okay once the bleeding stopped I thought. A week later I had to go to the hospital and have my foot opened up to get all the thorn out. The tip broke in the center of the foot. That was not fun.
PS: Great trees for honey and so are the black locust trees. Light color thin honey.
