How many gather seeds & grow them to plant on your property? I’ve got some persimmon I’ve done from seed that are 12’ tall now . This year I’m branching out with crabapple, persimmon, dogwood, redbud, apple & even a few acorns . Hopefully next fall I have a variety pack ready to go in the ground . Would anyone be interested in a seed exchange ?

If my memory is working correctly it seams that the apples you get from seed will not be the same as the apple you took them from. Do not remember why but remember some thing about all apple trees being grafted because that is the only way to know what you will get. Posting this so you donot have 4,5 years in growing a tree to be disappointed when the apples produced are not what you want

While you're at it, grab a few milk weed pods and stick the fluffy fibers in a small pill bottle to use as wind direction checkers from your tree stand. They work great.

I have put up 350 bags of persimmon pulp so far, but my trees are seedless. I do plant some acorns just for fun. Persimmon trees are so cheap from the state I just planted those years ago.

Thats what the guy I worked for at the nursery told me. Propagating trees also produce flowers and fruit sooner than from seed.

I sell them all. 4 bucks a bag. I usually do 400 bags a year but it is a bumper crop this year. I had to put boards under limbs that I could to stop them from breaking. I bet I still have 50% still on the tree.

I use a stainless steel cone strainer with Pestle that is probably 40 plus years old
I got some pecan fertilizer from Stark Bros this Spring and it really helped alot. I have picked up 5-5 gallon bucket fulls so far. Cant keep the squirrels out of them. They are 100 yards from a woods and they still find them. I have shot some but now as soon as I step outside they haul tail. I would say they have go more than me.
