I stopped at my deer processor and they said it's been slow but they had a nice 10 pt come in.

Yes its been unseasonably warm, but there's nothing like sweating your rear end off and fighting the mosquitoes this time of year. That's the price Im willing to pay for my time in the woods. I packed a cooler full of ice both mornings this weekend just in case I was successful. I figure its not much different than hunting in the South when its 90+ degrees there. That just means there's no room for taking a poke in the dark on a shot. Im guilty of rushing shots, like last year, so I think it would make me more certain and confident on my shot placement. Im only human, so obviously I have room to grow and become a better outdoorsman, so I've been using the weather to help with me with this.

This is my favorite time of year to kill does for meat. Save the good dates when it’s cooler for the bucks

I didn't know if you had a chance to do any walking around after the season and maybe stumbled upon him. If I remember correctly you said he was pretty big.

At least we aren't fighting off the cold and snow, all bundled up against sub freezing or colder weather.

It's a little breezy in Knox County this morning as I'm sitting in my 10ft tripod I picked up at academy on clearance in the off season. Looking over a freshly cut corn field surrounded by brushy ditches, tree lines and a couple bier patches with a 3 acre woods. I'm hoping to see a little movement before these storms later today. Have a feeling things are about to get really interesting in the woods in the coming days.

Last two years I killed on October 5th and 15th. This year I’m going this next weekend, maybe I’ll see something worth harvesting.

I did some looking around and put up cell cameras, but I never seen him and i haven't gotten any pictures of him as of yet this year. Im 99.9% certain that he may have moved over to a neighboring property and if thats the case I probably won't see him. The guy that owns that ground is well, not very friendly. Ive moved on to 2 bucks, a wide tall 8 and a tall narrow 7 point. The 8 is probably 3 yrs old and the 7 is probably 2-2.5 yrs old.

Leaning against a tree in a small funnel. Birds and squirrels are active. Hoping to get lucky with some pre storm activity. Bumped a doe that was bedded right next to my path on the way in smh. She didn’t blow and take off in a panic , so maybe she didn’t tell her friends lol

I know this probably isn't the place, but please forgive me. Anyone have any ladder stands that they might want to get rid of? I don't care what kind of condition they are in, as Im in need of 1 but I can't afford to buy new.

No such luck last night.
4 does so far this morning. Two out of range , and two that stayed in thick stuff and I never got a clean shot.
Feels good to see them moving near this stand and them not catching me. Come rut, this stand should be a good one with this wind.

Good luck! I'm glad you're having a good time out this season. Thank you! Today was the first sit that was any kind of exciting. Trying to only hunt the outsides with perfect winds. When I see chasing , I’ll start using my favorite spots when winds are correct. Crossing my fingers that the corn makes it to at least a week from gun season. Usually it gets picked right around then and I’m able to do some hpr hunts from a blind in the distance with friends / family that want to go.
