IMO there are two ways to deal with this... 1. Talk to her before you buy the gun and work it out beforehand. The downside to that is that she may say no and then if you still buy it she's likely to be a bit unhappy with you. or.... 2. You can live by the saying "It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission". I obviously don't know your wife, so only you know how well that's likely to turn out. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Or you could ask yourself, do you really need another gun? Dumb question. Lol

Or you could ask yourself, do you really need another gun? Dumb question. Lol “Need” never comes into play when talking about buying guns. “Want” is a plenty good enough reason…

When ever I bought a new gun I usually picked up a new sweeper, crockpot whatever I thought she might need around the house. It worked with all nine of my wives. 🤣

I had a friend years ago that would have hunting related purchases delivered to me.This was to keep his jealous overbearing wife from finding out what he had bought. When she did figure it out she demanded something for herself.
He finally got rid of her and married a wonderful woman who was the exact opposite.

There isnt a man alive that hasnt had to sneak something by a spouse at some point, or do some creative talking.
Mine was asking about all the reloading supplies and ammo I was getting. I told her the day would come when that stuff dried up. That time is showing its face! I have hardly bought anything since it got scarce and prices went nuts. I do still buy Walmart ammo when I find it. I tell her it wont go bad, wont go down in value, and she will get all the proceeds when I croak. Lol. It's all good.

After “we croak” let’s hope our widows don’t sell our guns for what we told her we paid for them. 😉

My youngest son Sam already informed us that he wants to buy our place. So I think I'm safe. But he's thinking when we croak. It might be a lot sooner like in a couple to few years if we sell.

Thanks to all who chimed in! Had a good laugh at some of the responses, but i went with honesty after all. El Wifeo barely even cared, so now i'm in the clear! ...now, the bass boat might require a little more finesse...

Say you have a smoking deal lined on a ( fill in the blank ) but you do not have enough to buy her the appliance dejour AND ammo. First you need a gun case preferably a hard case. The soft cases you need to put some filler in or you will get busted. Take said case and walk by the wife with it saying the last time you had it out there was a problem with it. For safety reasons you are taking it to the gunstore for a check up because you want to be sure there are no safety issues with it. Put the new gun in the case and walk right in with it. It works most of the time.
