Are 209 primers hard to find now? I can buy a bunch if they would be worth getting.

Primers of all kinds and sizes are like unicorn horns right now. They're currently only being made out of unobtainium.
Seriously, they're available in limited quantities, and from different sources, but they are spendy.
I have a good supply, so I haven't been really following the primer market, but I have been hearing stories about shortages that make me glad I stocked up when I did.
Before the "Damnpanic" 209 primers were $30 per 1000. Last I saw they are currently selling for 3 and 4 times that. Yes, $120 p/1k is not out of the ordinary today.
You'll need to decide how badly you "need" them, right now anyway.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but...

In the retriever world they are like gold!! I use up to 150 a day working dogs. They are used in our starter pistols, bird launchers, and I make my own primed shotgun hulls when training for HRC. I have secured around 3,500. Last 1,000 I paid $110. If you can get a good stockpile, find a retriever Indiana facebook group and you will sell them quick!! Because of the shortage I sold my 209 primer pistols and bought 22 pistols, then I can buy blanks at Menards that they use in concrete nail guns.

My dummy launcher uses the .22's, it's been a while since I used the blank starter pistols - but IIRC they are .22 also. I always bought 209's by the case of 5,000, lets just say I have enough for my needs.
The problem with selling them now, at least for me, is if the price doesn't come down in the future I am no further ahead.

No more selling unless to friends in need, and they better be damn good friends. Lol.

Is it a hassle to ship them?

I am not selling any components. I do not see an end for some time. I am in decent shape for several of my guns but replacement cost worries me. New normal I guess.

Is it a hassle to ship them? Yes. Basically you cannot ship them. Only certified HazMat shippers can legally ship them. They have to be shipped HazMat. Now if you were to load them in empty shotgun hulls, then they don't need to be shipped under the HazMat label, and you can ship them via UPS or FedEx. Not sure about USPS.
