Using his Christmas and "Straight A's" money, my grandson was super excited to purchase "his first rifle" some months ago!
The S&W 15-22 Sport.
However, the range time proved to be less than what we expected.
Actually, we were majorly disappointed due to the failures we had with the rifle.
We broke it down numerous times and cleaned it.
We tried every brand of ammunition I could get my hands on.
We tweaked this and tuned that, checking it over with good light and a magnifying glass.
Nothing corrected the failures, mostly FTE's.
My grandson was pretty positive and kept saying, "It's ok. If I get good enough, I'll only need one shot on a squirrel!"
And, "I don't mind. I can fix it at the range and we'll keep going!"
Meantime, my blood was boiling over the fact that a ~$400 rifle would have such issues.
So, I decided to call S&W and see what they recommended.
They said to send it in and they'd make it right.
The next day, I shipped it off with the Fedex labels that S&W had emailed me.
Yesterday, after about 3 weeks, we got the rifle back with paperwork noting that they had replace the Bolt, Firing Pin and Striker.
Off to the range we went to put it through the paces.
After 150 rounds of German SK and CCI Mini-Mag, some of it rapid fire, and both of us trying to make the gun fail,
I am happy to report that the rifle is running FLAWLESSLY!!!
This is the 3rd Firearms Mfr that I've sent a gun in the past year.
Kimber first,
Henry next and
S&W this time around!
Every experience has met with success and great customer service!
Not so concerned with accuracy, my grandson was popping a pretty good group with factory, non adjusted sights at 20 yards:
