I got out did some mushroom hunting this morning. I waited until 9:30 hoping to avoid any youth hunters, mission accomplished. I was on public hound that I've consistently seen turkeys on for 25+ years. Zero turkey seen, heard, feathers, or tracks today.
Oh, and not a single mushroom, but me finding any would be front page news.

I did quite a bit of yard work today, there was a fairly vocal one across the creek on the neighbor's place.

In southwest Brown County saw 3 longbeards traveling the woods togwther this morning, heard 1 gobbler for all of about 15 minutes. Seems like the boys with girls are tight with the girls and those on the outside are definitely on the outside.

There was one gobbling about every 30 seconds out at my place last night at about 5-6 PM. Drove out to go to town and there were two longbeards out in the field about 300 yards from my property line.
