Getting rained on right now at Port of Indiana on Lake Michigan. DNR report says skamania are in along with some coho. Only a couple guys here, all said they havent seen any fish caught Sat or today. Hmmmm, great report as usual. Wonder who they get their input from? Good way to sell licenses I guess. Lol It’s the weather mans side job No doubt! We pulled the plug and home already. Got a pile of things to do today. Time to get back on the bluegill and forget about the big lake anymore.

Funny how much the difference is between north and south. Spawn is pretty much over in my ponds. Still to come in NW by South Bend. Last weekend all the females we caught had eggs. Yes, should be on coming up shortly. In that pond the panfish are on the beds now. I will have the truck and tank there with the O2 setup next time.

Worked on some population reduction yesterday at my in-laws lake. We're trying to thin the bass out a little because we can catch these little guys all day long but nothing of any size. Quite the experience though. First my ultralite pole must've gotten broke in the truck bed because first cast the pole snapped. Then I had the line break on my spinning rod twice as I was setting the hook. The craziest thing was that a swarm of bees ran into me. I heard a buzzing, looked up and a giant ball of insects was flying at me and before I could get out of the way they were surrounding me. I took off running, one got stuck on my forehead under my hat so I threw my hat off. If there was anybody around they would've had quite the show.

RUN AWAY!

If that was me I would have looked for the queen and followed them. Nothing like free bees and another hive. They won't sting you, but will if you invoke them. Especially when the bee are swarming , almost tame.

It's really open where I was at so it would've been 2 miles before they found anything to swarm to in their path.

Starting bass reduction on pond today. Getting a bunch out. Feeding them all the free protein I can get them. Cicadas! This year take out at least 30# per surface acre. Those guys are skinny and don't have enough to eat.

Yep doing your recommendations from last pic I took of bass. On a mission to get rid of a bunch.
Been battling weeds and putting in fountains for the ponds.

Deadeer, his wife and his son came over yesterday to a pond that I needed to cull some Smallmouth out of. I borrowed Lukes fly rod and did some fishing myself. We removed 33 Smallies, total weight was only 11 1/4 pounds. Caught and removed some Hybrid Bluegills too, which weren't supposed to be in the pond - someone must have bucket stocked them, only supposed to be Redear Sunfish and Yellow Perch in the ponds besides the Smallmouth. A little birdie told me that they got up early and went up to Michigan today and they slayed the panfish!

On Monroe yesterday and ended up with about ten bluegill, one bass, and 5 channel cats. Majority were caught on cicadas.

Hit Brookville from 430 to 830 tonight. Kept 1 walleye and 15 channel cats. The boy had a giant channel break him off at the boat

Todays score that we brought home. LOVE bluegill, I hear perch is really good too. Need to find me some I guess. So what is the best? Walleye, perch or bluegill? Never had walleye either.
