With the close of deer season 20-21 means Deer season 21-22 begins. NOW is time to do your scouting for next season. Trails, scrapes, rub lines are highly visible and your best bet of patterning a mature bucks rutting area is upon us. Also good time to move or put up new sets and clear shooting lanes. I leave majority of my stands out but do need to pull lifelines and loosen ratchet straps on them. Plans are also underway to do some hinge cutting in existing bedding areas and do some select timber harvest my farm. Shedding my area usually peaks around Valentine's day so shed hunting will begin soon as well.

Next weekend the plan is to pull all ladder stands so I can rework them this winter for next year. Start feeding and do an inventory. Scouting for new stand locations with snow on the ground makes it easier.
Still learning. Learned this year that beans are at best an early food source, a week or so post harvest is about it. Corn fields are much better, but once they are chiseled, that puts a major end to the deer using them.

I've got a ton of work I want to do, but as with everything will be limited by time and money.
First will be relocating several stands, then I have a couple short trails through the brush I want to put in.
The big project will be clearing an area for a future food plot. Not sure if I'll have that done by next season or not.

Deer will destroy left over standing beans late season just need cold temps and snow

Next week or two I plan to move 1 stand at my brothers place. Moving about 10 yards. I'm also setting up a beehive stand. I plan to put a few hives and a dozen nuc hives to sell. I'll be selling the nucs (5 frame) for $180. 5 full frames of bees with brood, honey and a VSH carnoilan queen.
