This is one of several I did a few years ago. The only drop tests that really matter are those you do yourself. In this case I fired groups at 50, 100, 150, and 200 yds. That fall I took a doe at 201 yds with that rifle.

Yeah, I agree. I just thought it was interesting to get a ball park idea of just how far a bullet dropped at those distances.

He did it right by using the same gun and powder charge for all the tests. Don't expect that amount of drop in your gun though. Muzzle velocity with the same load can vary from gun to gun even in the same manufacturer. Barrel length, bore size (not all 50's are created equal), and bore condition all play a part in that.
