This may not happen very often, but it seems like I've been gone a couple years. I lose track of time easily, so was wondering what have you all been doing?
I broke my back and tore both shoulders last year. I like to say that I fell off a ladder, but the truth is that it broke. Note to self: check weight limit. LOL No, it was an old wooden ladder that I kept outside. Should have been firewood a long time ago. The back is good, but the shoulders hurt still. I never claimed to be a smart man.
Still have the most precious wife in the world.
My dog is still mean.
Last year, Sarah (daughter) went on the handicap hunt with me. She spotted the deer I killed. She was so excited. It was the only one that she had spotted all day. That made is a special one to me. Isn't that cool how they can be very special by another factor other than looks or size?
Finally, four years after Trey, I bought another crossbow and really think I can use it now. So far, I just look at it.
My heart is still the same, which trills me. That's much better than worse. What's dead is dead for now, so I'm good. I really expected to be dead by now. Stranger things have happened I guess.
I'm happy all the time, wake up that way and ... Actually, just to wake up thrills me. Wooooohooooo, it's going to be a good day!
Last I heard from Greg Hopper he was going to Alaska for a job.
Whitetail Dave was working on his new house in Brown County
Duff lived in Green County ...I think just to get sympathy ...why else???
Woody was putting in hardwood floors.
Wes was a newbe
I think one of you was getting ready to marry his sister ...maybe I dreamed this one.
Did any members die? I've been wondering about this.

Well, we’ve been living in our house now for three years as of last month. Never ending projects around the house and property. Trying to buy the neighbors nearly 8 acres to put us at 15 total. Since March we have framed the basement, put a deck off the front of the house, painted two bedrooms, and just finished extending our back deck to the full length of the house. Pics are on here somewhere. What I want to know is, how is that S10 project going?

Last I remember you decided to not go with the tires filled with dirt. Actually, sounds like a good idea at first thought. Oh the S10, I love that truck. Getting hurt put a stop to that. I rebuilt one side of the frontend, but hurt one shoulder and had to stop. I had three falls; I'm a bit clumsy. Then, I decided to refinish my big room. I'm very slow, like one sheet of drywall a day at best. It's coming along. Was hoping to be finished by deer season, but won't. Had to wait on electrician for a month. I've been in quarantine since this pandemic started, because the grandson comes over. I'm high risk. We're mostly concerned that my wife will get it and give it to me. She's healthy and rarely gets sick. She's too pretty to get sick. Now you know why I'm high risk ...good one Jon!

Where I shoot at the house now is downhill and I shoot into a hillside. Can get 100 yards if I need to. Have plans to change spots, but still be shooting into a hillside. If we get the neighbors property we will be all set.

It's all good, we are just a few years older and wiser. At least I hope so a little wiser. I didn't stop building. Built a 24 w x 40 l x 12 h barn. Started beekeeping last year and now have 14 hives. I'm almost used to a bee sting. Hand and arm no big deal. In a week or two my wife and I will be empty nesters. God bless and may peace be with you. I guess your work on earth is not finished. One more spirit to save.

The hardwood flooring plus tile in the two bathrooms was completed. Momma is happy and you know the old saying - “If momma ain’t happy then nobody is happy”
Not sure if you were active when I got my grown grandson to start hunting. He is 34 and first expressed an interest in deer hunting three years ago. The upcoming season will be our 4th together. He has been successful 2 out of 3 seasons.
He just got back from a solo bowhunting trip to Idaho. He had a great time getting away from work and Chicago. He missed the only buck that he saw. He lives and works in downtown Chicago and would love to get out of there. His work was in Brooklyn New York before which was/is worse than Chicago.
After several years of me hunting solo it really pleases me that he looks forward to hunting with grandpa..making memories.

WOW! Reading these updates makes me wonder where the time went.
Life has been, interesting. Daughter graduated college a semester early (Dec 2018) and we totaled her present on the way home from the ceremony, got rear-ended. While going to the chiropractor he noticed some issues with my right hip. During that process I finally got some answers from doctor number 3 on my sleeping issue after 9 months and ended up having "surprise" stints put in at the end of January 2019. About 2 months into cardiac rehab (turkey season) I discovered I simply couldn't do the exercises so I gave in and went to an orthopedic surgeon. He determined my hip joint was so deteriorated I had the option of better pain killers or a hip replacement. So Dec 30 2019 I acquired a hunk of titanium.
Life is pretty good with the new parts. Im still well insulated, but I can get up and walk like a normal person and not have constant pain. :-)

Rob reminded me of medical issues..
My wife spent 6 weeks and one day in the hospital and rehab in the summer of 2018. She started out with bowel blockage from scar tissue from her hysterectomy 40 years ago. Then she had a minor heart attack. They tried to stint her but her heart veins were too small. Then she got blood clots in her legs and a couple in her lungs. They put her in a blood thinner and that caused bladder bleeding. They had to take her off of that and put in a filter to take care of the leg blood clots.
While she was in there I was having some pain issues in the chest and in the middle of my back between the shoulder bladder I wrote that off as anxiety. After she came home I got to thinking that she got blindsided by the heart blockage so I decided to get checked out. Good thing I did as I had two partially blocked veins in my heart. I got two stents and they put me on blood thinners.
We’ve both been doing good ever since.

Hey, got a question: what was the recovery like for the hip? Doc is worried that I wouldn't survive the surgery of getting my shoulders fixed. I didn't want it done anyway, because I don't think I could take the pain that I saw my mom in. Five boulders came out between her legs. Just the thought of it make me take a pill. I KNOW you are proud of that girl of yours.

Blood clots are extremely dangerous! You both came close to taking a dirt bath. I hope you both live until the rapture. I really don't want to die again. I just want to fly away.

If you ever get captured, all they'd have to do is tie you to a chair and you'd tell them anything to get free.

When I moved to Fort Wayne single, knowing no one and living in a small 1 bedroom apartment. But that didn't last long. Got on a softball and soccer team and found a 20 acre farm to hunt just a little North of Fort Wayne in Kendallville. I can't wait to retire. Then I can start creating and test some inventions. Drives me nuts stuck at work and I can't tinker around. I want to build a cold fusion home station and do some testing on high speed rotating high magnetic pulsing loop machine.

I KNOW you are proud of that girl of yours. The doctor I had does an anterior type of surgery where he doesn't cut any muscles, just separates them. It felt like I had a dead spot on my thigh/butt the size of a softball, but every 3rd or 4th day I would wake up it the ball being smaller. Basically the nerves waking up and the muscles moving again. I was released from therapy and doctor's care in 6 weeks. The only part that was awful was day 3, second full day after surgery. All three 9f the nerve blockers wore off that day and am probably lucky I couldn't walk enough to get to the gun cabinet. It lasted one day and things got better every day after.
