What are you guys using now and which brands & styles do you prefer? I came off a frustrating 2 missed deer, in late muzzleloader season, in 1 day last year. A little while later I learned that my optics were junk! I was using a Bass Pro RedHead scope and it didn't make it two seasons! I am looking at a Weaver 2X10 in 38mm for this season. What do you guys think?

Bushnell Elite 3200 2-7X32. It's a solid dependable scope suitable for just about everything. If I were limited to one scope, this would be the one. I also have a Burris Fullfield II 3-9X40 that is my favorite but they've changed their production since they made mine and so I can't recomend it.

What do you guys think? Dont skimp on your optics. Spend as much on your scope as you can afford. Leupolds, 3200 Bushnel, Burris are all good choices. Ive always said "its better to have a $100.00 rifle and a $400.00 scope than it is to have a $400.00 rifle and $100.00 scope". Get a good quality scope even if you have to save up for it. h.h.

I don't use a scope on my T/C Black Diamond .50 M/L. I use their factory Peep Sight, which I feel is just as good or better than a scope. It's certainly easier to clean the M/L, with a peep sight mounted, rather than a scope.

Minimum a Leupold VXII. A VXIII is better. I also can recommend a Nikon Monarch Gold. I prefer lower powered variables in the 1.5 to 6X range or a good 2X7. My next purchase will be a Leupold VX-III in 2.5X8 with the B&C reticle however. I use the Leupold Quick Release mounts and rings so if needed the scope can be changed for a spare or be out of the way for cleaning.

Scope?? what's a scope??
Just kidding... I only use Burris and Leupold on my handguns. I have broken just about every other brand out there due to the heavy recoil and vibraton from these guns.
As for rifles, I use Burris and Leupold as well as Simmons and Nikon, depending on the rifle and caliber.
On one of our Encores is only drilled for scope mount. It is a Bullberry 18" custom barrel toppped with a Simmons 3-9x40mm Whitetail Classic that has done well for 3 years now.
I have also been through several different red-dot scopes and have found the Aimpoint scopes to be the best due to their quality and the fact that their dots are actually round. I have found that it is best to get the smallest dot available if you plan on shooting over 50 yards.

I use a Simmons Whitetail Expedition, 2.5-7x. I love it. Great scope for the money.

As far as scopes go you get what you pay for. Low magnification is fine for hunting, but the higher magnifacation is better for sighting in the rifle. Especially if you want to see what your ML'er will do at 200 yards. Leupold is the scope of my choice as they have a lifetime guarantee, and they have been in business a very long time, and you do not have to be the original owner and they will still honor the warranty, this alone is why you can buy a used one and say there is something wrong with it return it to them and they will fix it. Other than abuse.

I am down in Atlanta this week for work and only 20 minutes from Bass Pro Shops in Lawrenceville. I have been there twice comparing many nice scopes for my Savage. I just picked up a Bushnell Elite 3200 in 1.5 -4.5x32mm scope with the Rainguard and Firefly reticle. This looks exactly the same as the 4200, through the lens, but it wasn't as expensive. I am thrilled with my purchase and actually like the lower magnifications better than I thought I would.
