Anyone here use the TC Maxi-hunter .50 caliber bullets? I know the trend these days is toward the pistol-type bullets, but I was wondering if I could get some feedback on the hunting performance of these projectiles. I get a lot of feedback from a couple of hunters I know along the lines that they tend to drop deer where they stand. Perhaps they don't exit and dump all the energy in the critter?
Any thoughts?

I use to use T/C's Maxi Balls & Hunters, in my .54 M/L. I have never received very good accuracy from them. I once had a T/C in .45 Cal. and I received good accuracy using Lee's R*E*A*L* cast bullets.

Well never had very good results with the Maxi-Hunters, of course I tried them in a 1X28 twist, I have several White Rifles and they have a 1x24 twist, and they shoot No-Excuse bullets very good as a matter of fact consistent under 1" groups at 100 yards. The Bull Shop will cast bullets to your size. If you have a 50 caliber ML'er you may want to slug your bore with one of those maxi's and determine the exact diamater of your bore and then have them sized to fit. I have tried the No-Excuse bullets in my Knight rifles while not as good a group as my Whites they did group anbot 1-1/2 to 2" at 100 yards. But if you are ever in the market for a new rifle you may want to consider a White Rifle, No equal and if shooting big lead bullets is your cup of tea then that is the ticket You can go to the White web sight and at the bottom is Doc Whites own sight he has some fabulous deals on used white rifles I have never bought a new one.
