Haven't tried any of the muzzleloaders you mention, but I do hunt with a T/C New Englander 12 ga. I load with 100 gr. of ffg, with 2 woven wads over the powder, and 1 3/8 oz. of #4 shot, with 1 woven wad over the shot. I'm good out to maybe 35-40 yards. Never patterned it past those distances. I have never had the luck to get a shot at a turkey, but target wise, it is deadly. ;D PS, your shoulder KNOWS you shot it too.

You do know that Knight doesn't allow pellets to be used in their shotguns right? I had one but it kicked like a mule with turkey loads so I used it for small game. I finally sold it because I wasn't that into muzzleloading shotguns.

I have a CVA trapper shotgun with modified choke. I use TCs cloth shot wads. I use a balanced load of a dipped 1.25 oz. shot and use the same dipper for the FF blackpowder. I have killed several rabbits and an assortment of sparrows, starlings, with it. Light weight and not bad recoil.
