I'm trying to switch to Blackhorn 209 for my muzzleloader and I'd like to ensure I'm using a recommended primer. Unfortunately, I can't figure out where to buy CCI 209M shotshell primers locally. I can get them shipped but hate paying the hazmat upcharge. Figured I'd check if anybody has seen them anywhere within a reasonable drive of Indianapolis.
Another option would be Federal 209A but I think I'd like to go with the CCI option if possible.

I was in Sportsmans Warehouse this in Ft Wayne this evening and they had a good supply of Shotgun primers but I really did not pay attention as to manufacture. Is there a gun show down there this weekend? It may be worth trying. Also can they be shipped from 1 Cabelas to another for free?

If you find some let me know. I'm looking to pick up some extra. I just checked Cabela's website and they aren't even letting you order them to be shipped to the store.

I think that's the case in a lot of the stores that sell reloading supplies. For shooting shotgun, 100 primers is a drop in the bucket. If you only need 100, then find a shotgun reloading buddy that can use the rest. I typically buy my primers in 5,000 case lots. I think I have two cases of Win 209, one CCI 209M, one CCI 209, one Fed 209A. I might have 1K Rem 209 primers, but I rarely use those.

Sounds like Indiana Gun Club does carry the Federal primers. I've found a fellow member who can help me get the small quantity I need, so going to go that route.

I bit the bullet and paid the hazmat fee to get them shipped. How much is the hazmat fee now? I have split an order one time with others on powder to save on the hazmat. I have found my needs locally ever since, so no need for shipping. I dont shoot as much as I was, so letting junior yank the trigger more regularly now. I have enough supplies to survive the zombie apocalypse at this pace. Lol

I bit the bullet and paid the hazmat fee to get them shipped. Heck man, ya should have let me know how many you needed. I could have spared some. The only problem is that I moved all the shotshell reloading stuff from one house to another and would have to dig for them if you wanted more than a hundred or so, I have that many here.

Thanks for the offer!! I had regular 209 shotgun primers but I wanted to try the ones made for muzzle loaders. Since I am leaving for Colorado Tuesday I figured I had better get in gear and get some.

The muzzy primers are supposed to be tamed way down. If you need any of the two hottest, CCIM or Fed 209A, I got a good supply. Happy to help out if you need some. Good luck on your trip!

If anyone is still looking for these, Honey Creek Tackle in Bargersville had quite a few. I was in there this afternoon and picked up 200 primers.

I just realized that I need some of these too, so I dug through all of my primers for reloading and found a brand new pack of 100. I hope the BH209 is as reliable as everyone says it is.
