It's made by Traditions. A friend at the shotshow said that it's stamped that on the barrel.

Best guess is that they didn't want to sink money into something that may or may not sell. Either that or they figure that they can't compete against the cheap muzzleloaders and are using the "if you can't beat em, join em approach".
Could be both too.

Remington seems to be grasping at straws. First they buy out Baikal, now they're selling Traditions ML with their name. What gives? No R&D department at Remington anymore?

Who knows. Remington has problems, no doubt there.

I think that baikal tapped a market that no one else saw, at least no one else with guns that were decently made.
Chuck Hawks really turned in a scathing review of the Model 700 ML. This steered me away from buying one. I think Remington read it too....

Well the only thing I can say is I would have to shoot the others to compare but I have no intentions to do so, I still like my 700. I shoot 300 gr bullet with 100 clean shot powder and I've killed many deer with it. I do use the 209 primers and haven't experienced the unfortunate fierce blow back as stated. The 209 primers do stick in after virtually every shot but they also don't fall out before firing either. To me using the pick to get it out is just part of the loading process. I have also used the weather shroud whenever I shoot, to include on the range, not only in inclement weather again no problem. As for the kick, if compared to a 12 ga slug it's a shove not a kick. One thing I would like to put on it is a thumb hole stock. Anyway I've had this gun for some years and I'm sure there are a number of MLs on the market today that load, balance, shoot and even look better but I'm sticking to my 700, it gets the job done.....

If it works stick to your guns. I had one and it was the worst shooting ML'er I ever had and I have atleast 12. I tried to sell it as low as 175 dollars and no takers, finally I gave it away to a young boy who hunts with us for him so so accuracy will not be a problem. I bought it on Remingtons name, they sure didnt research their product. I guess they realized, that is why they no longer make them. And for Remington to have ML'ers made for them by traditions, one of the most accident prone ML'ers on the market today, what are they coming too. Randy wakeman in his video about the Remington ML'er his opinion was even worse than mine. You know the old saying if ain't broke don't fix it.

The decision to sell Baikal products under the Spartan name was probably one of the best decisions Remington has made in a long time. I don't think this new muzzleloader will work so well.

I thought they should be decent. I have never really had any problems with any of the Remington products I own (many). I didn't know anyone with a 700 ML at the time I was looking. Ruger also made a similar rifle based on their model 77, which I had a hard time finding.

I used a Remington from the early 90's until about 3 or 4 years ago when I bought the Knight. I never had any problems with it. Killed quite a few deer with it too. I just bought one of the new Savage ML11's and am looking forward to useing it too. Although someone blew one up and then said that they were all bad. From what I heard he used almost triple loads to do it. But who knows.

According to Savage arms, this blown Savage was the result of improper loading. Being that he was a Savage employee, but was fired, one can only guess the reason for this occurance. I own a Savage smokeless and wouldn't trade it for anything. The Savage is awesome. I have several sub-moa loads that I can share with you. Sorry, hope I didn't hi-jack this thread. The original Remington muzzleloader was very well made. Used rifle grade steel and was made at the same plant as their high power rifles. Too bad Remington didn't evolve this gun. Quality was as good as Knight and TC.

That's a new one. First time I heard that about Mr Bridges. tripled the load? But what has that to do with Remingrtom? You know there is an old saying Believe nothing of what you hear, And half of what you see.
