Yes. County Tags, Special hunt area tags (Public), or property only are your only choices for gun. Archery are state wide. I don't much care for bow hunting since I use muzzleloaders. And thanks for the welcome. I just happened to find this site and since I'm hunting Indiana this year decided to take a look. Yes.. a hearty welcome. We have several other muzzleloader enthusiasts on here. My “smokepole” is a TC Omega with a laminate thumbhole stock. Hope this is ok. I didn't want to hijack the other thread any more than was done. My name is Patrick White. I run a small muzzleloading forum called Modern Muzzleloader. I have been hunting with muzzleloaders since 2001 and have fired around a few thousand smokepole rounds since that time. I have hunted with muzzleloaders exclusively since 2002 when I shot my first muzzleloader deer. I currently own 4 muzzleloaders and have had 4 others. My current ML's are a .50 cal Disc Extreme (thumbhole Stock), 50 cal T/C Omega (Lam. thumbhole stock), a 50 cal Knight Hawkeye (handgun), and a .54 caliber Lyman GPR. I have owned a CVA hunterbolt (50 cal), Traditions Buckhunter (50 cal), Knight Wolverine (50 cal), and a TK-2000 12 gauge.

Hey Patrick How do you like the thumbhole stock on your Knight? Been thinking of getting one for my Disc Elite.

Welcome Patrick. Muzzleloaders have been my primary deer hunting firearms for the past 6 years. I started out with a Knight DISC before switching to a Savage M 1.

The synthetic Knight thumbhole stock is the best thumbhole stock I've ever handled. Mine's a bit beat up, but still, handles as good as ever. Indeed, compared to my Extreme, my Omega's stock is somewhat lacking. I may get some pac skins for it because it's too slick.
You'll wanna call knight about your Elite because they'll have to mill out the lug for you since they don't make a thumbhole for the Elite. They can do it, but you'll need to ask them.

I used to shoot the old school percussions competitively when I was younger with pops, but I just recently packed up the slug barrel on the shotgun and hung the .45 hawken on the mantle. I bought an Encore 209x50 last saturday. LOVE IT.

Welcome Pat! One of my Hunting Friends in Kentucky is a good friend of Toby Bridges. Just wondering if Toby is still associated with Savage Arms Company?

DRS,
Yes, Toby had a little falling out with Henry and Ron after one of the Savage smokeless guns he was testing blew up... difference of opinion as to the cause, and he was let go...

I went in the other direction. I have a Knight Buckhorn, but recently bought a used 54 T/C Hawken and put a 58 caliber Green Mountain roundball barrel on it. I've been deer hunting for a few years, and the thrill wasn't there like it used to be (except bow hunting).

That's too bad as Mr. Bridges is very knowledgeable when it came to M/L. I've read many of his articles.
