Lost my wallet a while back as well as my lifetime carry permit. I’ve gone online to try and get a replacement and update my contact info. It seems like it just keeps taking me back to applying all over again with a $75.00 fee as well. Any ideas on how to get around this?

This is the same spot I was using but the darn thing keeps reverting back to like it’s a new application. Tried to call but that department still isn’t open to answer questions.

Years ago I went for the lifetime CCL, and thought about what would I do if I lost or couldn't find the darn thing. Decided to go to our local office supply store and see if I could have copies made. Blew the guys mind for a few minutes, and he said he would see what he could do. Got a phone call a couple of days later to come down and see what you think. Same type of paper the State used, exact duplicate, and I got four beautiful copies made. Signed all four and put them [along with the original] under plastic that I got at Wally World. Later asked a cop friend of mine to pick out the "real" license from the copies. He couldn't do it! Never have to worry about going through the PITA process of replacing a lost card, just open up a drawer and there's the back-ups. YMMV

I got ahold of the state police and a gentleman was able to get me my license #. With that number I was easily able to apply for the replacement card.

Luckily now you are not required to be in possession of the physical license to be legal to carry. Years ago you were advised not to carry without a physical license to present to police upon request.

Can not the police run your name and determine if you have a permit?

So to add too timing is everything in life... here was what Morrison posted The Indiana Statute does not require an individual to have the carry license on their person. However, if the resources available to the officer are limited or inaccurate, at the time of the encounter, the officer will deal with the issue and the burden of proving the person has a license shifts to the person claiming to have the license. Having a license with you is a matter of your convenience. It is recommended and encouraged for a person to have the license with them. So I had the opportunity to speak with a local officer on patrol by my bank. Asked him about my little dilemma and he was kind enough to run my license and see. He said nothing came up. ??? But did provide me a phone number that actually worked. The firearms division ran my information and sure enough there it is. My lifetime carry permit number. She informed me that the officer has to run your information off of your last name followed by basic additional information and not directly from your license number!!! Which she said happens nearly all the time and it will not show up. In short it could’ve been a bad situation if I didn’t have the card on me.

Constitutional carry makes more sense all the time. Our state tries to make statism as palatable and reasonable as they can, but it's still statism, and ends up with more or less the same result, whether by intent or by the inevitable inefficiencies and ineptitude of governmental controls.
Not blaming the well-meaning civil servants who do their jobs in enforcing the regulations. We are taught almost from the cradle to obey the law and do what's necessary to maintain law and order. Questioning authority and resisting governmental authority over every aspect or our lives isn't taught in school or in most families.
Some of our leaders tried to forewarn us. Franklin wrote that those who would sacrifice essential liberty for the promise of temporary safety deserved neither liberty nor safety. And Jefferson wrote that the government that governs least, governs best.
