I made a quick stop at Cabela’s in Missouri and noticed they had a boatload of CCI Gamepoint in 22WMR! I’ve never used this so I decided to pick up a few hundred rounds. It seemed a bit strange to stand in an aisle that was mostly empty shelves. But they had plenty of this! www.cci-ammunition.com/rimfire/cci/gamepoint/6-22.htmlI’m curious to see how it shoots in my Henry pump and CZ 457!

I normally use the Remington Gold bullets but also occasionally Federal Super X hollow points. My Marlin bolt action shoots them both good.

I want to sight in my .22 with federal Premium Hunter Match .22 LR ammo, but am having a tough time finding it. I used to shoot just the ordinary Winchester .22 LR 40 grain ammo, but not even certain where to get that anymore. Just looked on Cabela's, and they have 26 grain, 38 grain, virtually everything but 40 grain.
What do you all shoot in bullet weight?

I shoot different weights for different guns. Just get something and try it. Maybe it will work better than what you been using.

I just found about 150 rounds left of some Winchester 40 grain Power-Point Copper Plated .22 LR that started out as 200 rounds. I`ll just zero with that. It says it`s got 1280 fps. Dang, I`ve still got to re-zero the .30-06 too for deer season since I had the scope moved back. I can`t put this stuff off or I`ll be a week before firearms opener and still not have it done.

Thats more than enough for a few squirrels in the freezer.

I gave up on finding the Federal Hunter March .22 LR ammo, especially since I discovered about 150 rounds of Winchester Super-X Power-Point Copper Plated .22 LR rounds in my hunting ammo tote. And what a glorious day it is today, I searched for what seemed like forever for somewhere online that had more of this particular .22 LR ammo, and finally, found a place online this morning that has it. Ordered an additional 200 rounds! Just a quick note, I did my best to find a place locally to buy this ammo from, but no one I contacted had any, and most of the places I searched online were out of stock as well. It was a minor miracle to have found this ammunition this morning. Nevertheless, it`s on the way to me now!

I use #6 lead in my 16g sxs, but just dropped my Remington number four off at the smith to get relined and chambered for .22lr it seemed to like the cci copper plated hollow point shorts. But could only get about a six inch grouping at 25yds so I didn’t feel confident taking it out for some real action.
