Crossbow Turkeys at LBL!!!
Just received some information today and wanted pass it on. As some of you are aware ...the Kentucky portion of LBL has always prohibited crossbows from being used on any game during any season. The UCBK has pursued this since the expanded crossbow season was set last year and its beginning to pay off.
Until I received this e-mail today....you could not use a crossbow during their quota turkey hunts or during the non-quota portion. You could use a shotgun or bow ....but not a crossbow. This has been changed and a special thanks goes to the UCBK , KDF&WR & KWCP.
You can now use a crossbow on the Kentucky portion of LBL for Spring turkey. The following is a response.. received today ...from recent correspondence I sent them.

I talked to our biologist and he in turn talked to our law enforcement and the regulation concerning no crossbows on the KY portion of LBL has been removed from the KY Dept. of Fish & Wildlife state regulations.
So, since the spring turkey hunts are gun you can go down in size of weapon and you can use a crossbow now in KY on LBL for the spring turkey hunt. This has not always been the case.
State regulation 301 KAR 2:111 Section 2 Land Between The Lakes use to read, "a person shall not take deer or turkey with crossbows".
