Crossbow Elephant HuntIf you want to see the story on Bill Troubridge's crossbow elephant hunt you can see it on "Safari Hunters Journal" on OLN at the following Time & Date: February 22 11:30 am. Not sure if that is EST or CST... For a 3 minute short version… mms://64.15.155.134/Media/excalibur/elephant/elephant_high.wmvA few details from Bill Troubridge on the hunt... "I used a stock Exomax with a double walled carbon arrow using extra weights and a brass insert. Front end was a Magnus 125 unvented 2 blade cut on contact head and steel adapter. Total mass weight was 900 grains, velocity around 255, hitting power about 125 foot lbs. The meat was used down to the very last scrap by the inhabitants of a fishing village on Sibilobilo lagoon a few miles from the kill site. Over a hundred people cut around 4000 pounds of boned meat off of the carcass and carted it away within a few hours. It was a very big day for the village! We shot the video for a show called Safari Hunters Journal on OLN, but after they show it we will put some of it up on our web video selection. We tried for Cape Buff and Hippo but the gods didn't shine on us."

Sounds like he came prepared. I don't get OLN so I'll miss it.
An elephant with a crossbow - I'm guessing that this is a first?
