Hi everyone! Moved to Indiana about 2 years ago for work. Bought a house in central Indiana a year ago and finally putting down roots. Came across this forum and thought it was a good place to meet like minded people. Maybe meet up and get in the woods or on the water. I live in suburbia so this will be my first time hunting public land after a 2 year layoff due to the move. I'm originally from WV, 34, married and a couple young ones. I fish, hunt, garden, camp...generally anything outdoors!

Any advice on public land during bow season? I was thinking Wilbur Wright or Mississnewa? Would also like a place to take my son for squirrel. Also, anywhere near Indy for trout? Big catfish? I'm accustomed to big flathead on the Ohio. Worked for the WV DNR for a few years during college.

Welcome to the Hoosier state ! You have found a great informative forum & a good bunch of sportsman that pretty much talk everything and show sportsmanship even when we disagree for the most part . There are lots of hunting options in our state & the DNR website is a great place to start for options near you .

Mississinewa might be an option but I would write off Wilbur Wright, small and over hunted. I usually try to the draw hunts but most are firearm only. If you have any questions about our area let me know, happy to help.
